About Us — thebeautyroad.com

thebeautyroad.com is an outdoor life and nature-culture experience platform in Korea, operated by Ojick.com.

Beyond the usual list of tourist spots, we help travelers and expats living in Korea discover the country’s mountains, forests, coastlines, temples, and everyday culture — the side of Korea that a short sightseeing trip usually misses.

About Ojick.com

Ojick.com was founded in Korea in 2012, working in software development and digital marketing. thebeautyroad.com is a separate content project run by our founder and team, built on what we’ve personally explored and researched across the country.

Why We Started This Site

Seeing Korea isn’t only about checking famous landmarks off a list. There are mountains and forests near the city, coastal trails, quiet traditional temples, and countless spots where nature and local culture come together.

thebeautyroad.com exists to surface these lesser-known sides of Korea — explained in a way that’s easy for foreign visitors to follow, with practical details for planning an actual visit.

What We Cover

Rather than focusing on a single type of hiking course, we cover the broader range of outdoor and cultural experiences Korea has to offer:

  • Mountains and forests
  • Hiking and trekking
  • Coastlines and natural scenery
  • Outdoor lifestyle in Korea
  • Traditional temples and temple stays
  • Culture experienced through nature
  • Regional nature and culture trips
  • Nearby spots worth visiting alongside outdoor activities

For each place, we try to answer the practical questions: what the experience is actually like, the best time to go, how to get there, and how much time to set aside.

Content Based on Real Visits

Wherever possible, we visit the location ourselves — checking the surroundings, taking our own photos, and recording routes and travel times, including GPS data where relevant for outdoor content.

For temples, temple stays, and cultural experiences, we avoid simply translating or rewriting existing sources. Instead, we research and organize information around what a real visitor actually needs to know.

Current Coverage

We currently publish in English and Japanese, with more languages planned. Content starts in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province and is expanding to Seoul, Jeju, and beyond, with new nature, outdoor, and cultural experiences added regularly.

For Our Readers

If you’re new to Korea’s outdoors, a lot of the practical details aren’t obvious — so we try to be specific about transportation, time needed, difficulty, what to bring, and what the surroundings are like.

If you notice an error or something has changed since we visited, please let us know through our contact page. Reader feedback helps us keep the information accurate.

thebeautyroad.com aims to offer a different way to travel — one built around experiencing Korea’s nature, outdoor life, and culture firsthand.
